One of my favorite recent trends is the slip dress. They’ve made appearances on numerous runways and are in stores everywhere. These beauties are great paired with a leather jacket and chunky platforms. This is an easy trend to rock. Whether in a pattern or bold color, slip dresses offer a daring look. Their simplicity is paired with exquisite detail; sheer overlay, embroidery, and lace applique give a feminine touch. These dresses are the perfect combination of sweet and sultry. They would be a great addition to any wardrobe.
Dr. Martens are an institution in the fashion world. For the edgy and unkempt, these shoes are the epitome of urban street wear. They come in every color and pattern imaginable, from subdued shades to vivid hues. They are perfect for avid shoe lovers and those experimenting with their style. They give a pop of color and a dash of punk. Dr. Martens would be a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe.
One of the biggest trends of the season, sheer fabric, just happens to be one of my favorites. The versatility of using sheer fabric is endless. From organza to lace, designers and the high street have been utilizing the trend in skirts, shirts, dresses and accessories. One of my favorites, the sheer maxi makes for the perfect fall piece. Using sheer pieces in your wardrobe is a mark of the daring and the confident. My advice? Go for it. Play with your proportions and layer it up to create the perfect look. This is definitely a trend worth trying, so get out there and rock it.
Bold color is definitely on my favorite trends list for spring, and especially when it’s used in makeup. I’m especially loving colored mascara right now. Its daring and fun to play around with. I recently got Buxom Lash blue mascara and I love it. I also wear it with some blue eyeliner for the perfect amount of color. Are you falling in love with the colored mascara trend?
One of my favorite shows at Fashion Week this fall was Alice and Olivia. I loved it because the collection was full of strong color, graphic print, and dark makeup. The models looked super confident and strong. And I’m convinced to make ALL my fashion choices with confidence and a bold flair. I loved this collection, did you guys?
I’m seriously loving the bustier top right now! It was very popular on the spring/summer runways. And I especially love the way Dolce & Gabbana did it. Their whole show was full of bustier tops and dresses. Even though I’m dying for this trend, I have to admit, I haven’t got one yet. Hopefully I’ll find one worthy of purchase soon. So tell me, do you love or hate this trend?
Here is how I might wear it…

After yet another couple of days of New York Fashion Week, a ton of new designers showed their Fall 2012 collections. And one of the designers that showed on Sunday was Custo Barcelona. The collection was really cool. With a lot of neutral, earthy colors, the show had a really natural vibe. I liked that the collection looked deconstructed and almost unfinished. It had snake-skin, fringe, and fur, which are all really big for fall right now. It screams, “I don’t care, but I still look amazing”. The models looked edgy and carefree, I loved it.
