Best Dressed

I want to start by saying that I love Chloe Grace Moretz; even though she’s only 14, she is already shaping into a real style star (plus, you can’t forget to mention, she is a really great actress). This picture is of her at the Hollywood Style Awards this month. She is wearing an adorable Miu Miu, mustard yellow, Peter Pan collar shirt with a full, black mini skirt. She also has on some black tights and simple shoes. Overall the outfit is very fashion forward and trendy. Mustard is one of the hot colors this season, and the Peter Pan collar is really in right now. Chloe kept her outfit simple and chic for this event and I give her an A+. We definitely have to keep an eye on this young star in the future, because she has great fashion sense.

Gamze Saracoglu

Fist of all, I just want to say my biggest apologies for not posting  in forever! School is killing me. Anyway, on to more important things. Gamze Saracoglu is the second of seven Turkish designers I will be posting about. She is a huge talent, and I was really excited to learn more about her. She got her fashion education at Parson’s school of design in New York City and then took a course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. She developed her own brand and took off from there, selling all across Europe. Her designs have a really glamorous vibe. She designs for a youthful and modern woman. Gamze designs all kinds of  clothing, but she really does make absolutely beautiful dresses. Her collections have a range from cute party dresses, to elegant red carpet looks. She showcases her collections at Istanbul Fashion Week every year and I can tell she is seriously destined for greatness.

Obsession

Leandra Medine is the type of blogger I look up to and aspire to one day become. She is witty and entertaining, as well as knowledgeable and fashionable. And I was so thrilled when I found out that the blogger responsible for the Man Repeller, was working on a collaboration with the, always gorgeous, jewelry company, Dannijo. The line she designed is so her; I would buy most of it in a heartbeat. I’m especially lusting after the Sinatra collar necklace, right above. It’s so man repeller! It’s made with Swarovski crystals and definitely worth the investment! So, I’ll be putting this on my holiday wishlist this year, for sure, and I hope you will, as well.

Best Dressed

This past week the MTV Europe Music Awards were held and, as always, a ton of celebrities came to receive awards and to support the nominees. In my opinion, the best dressed at the event was, the young actress and singer, Selena Gomez. She wore a beautiful ivory Marchesa dress. This dress is gorgeous;  it’s all lace and tulle, with a sheer back. It is a romantic  and dramatic in style. Selena looked really great in it. She kept the styling relatively simple, with a side pony tail and graphic eyeliner. She also wore a neutral toned heel to not take away from the dress.  She made a really good decision in wearing this dress to this event, and I commend her for her great sense of style.

Holly Golightly

This past week I watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s and I was inspired to make this post. This movie has become a classic over the years and it is loved by many. It’s almost impossible to not love Holly Golightly, played by the gorgeous Audrey Hepburn; she’s lighthearted and goofy, which makes her all the more lovable. The fashion in this movie is very iconic; when most think of Audrey Hepburn, they think of her wearing that gorgeous, black, silk Givenchy dress and those strings of pearls around her neck. The dress in this film is very glamorous; It’s classy and elegant, which is exactly what Audrey Hepburn is. This movie is a favorite of mine, because it has, both, a great storyline and great fashion. And if you haven’t seen this movie, you really have to.

Florence Welch

Most everyone that knows me, knows that I am completely obsessed with Florence and the Machine. Florence Welch, the lead singer, has a gorgeous voice and makes, both, amazing and meaningful music. Although, tons of people know and love her music, they may not know she has an amazing personal style. Florence wears beautiful and feminine clothing. Her style consists of vintage and lace, it’s  romantic and unique. If you listen to her music you know her voice is  beautifully haunting; her style is very similar. Her personality is definitely reflected in her style. If you watch any of her music videos or any interviews she always looks impeccable. You can tell she really loves what she wears and that she feels confident in it, and I love that. She’s pushing boundaries and making a style all her own. And just a reminder, you should definitely purchase her new album Ceremonials, because it has just come out and it’s amazing.

Arzu Kaprol

So, this is the first of seven designer profiles I’ll be doing in the month of November, all from the beautiful country Turkey. Arzu Kaprol is a great emerging designer from Turkey. She is well-known for her unique and innovative designs. Arzu excels in structured and architectural pieces. Her designs are dark, edgy, and futuristic. As of now, she is showing her collections at both the Paris Fashion Week and Istanbul Fashion Week. She studied fashion and design at the wonderful Paris American University, so she has a ton of experience. Kaprol’s designs are strong; she definitely has the ability and skill to make it really big. And I hope she does, because I love her ground-breaking, edgy designs.

Fall Shoe Trends

Two days ago I went on a little shopping spree to find some fall and winter shoes to add to my growing collection. I looked all over. I ended up getting 2 pairs. I opted for the suede, fur, and leather trends; my first pair was a light brown, lace up boot with a tall heel, and my second was a brown faux leather boot with fur lining the inside. You can find the perfect pair for you this season, because the trends right now are plentiful. Some of the biggest shoe trends for this Fall/Winter season include patent leather, laces, buckles, fur lining, curved heels, and tall wedges. I am definitely in love with what this season has to offer. And you should get excited and go out and treat yourself to a new pair.

Versace x H&M

The Versace and H&M collaboration is one that I have been really waiting for. This collaboration is really exciting and it is coming out on November the 19th. This collection has a really iconic feel, with its use of old, iconic Versace prints. This collaboration is for that cool, confident, and edgy woman who knows what she wants. I love the vibe of this collection; some of my favorite pieces in it are the cool studded leather jackets. This is so Versace, it really has that effortless and chic vibe. So, if you’re like me, and love this collaboration, you should definitely head over to H&M at 8AM on the 19th to get your shop on. So, until then, I’m just gonna keep saving up my money to buy that  gorgeous studded leather jacket!

Day of the Dead

The Mexican Day of the Dead celebration is almost over. But, you can always keep it going in your fashion. Draw inspiration from the intricate and colorful skulls seen on this holiday; As a little girl I remember decorating my own sugar skull with my mom and sister, it was so fun!  In honor of the Day of the Dead, the designer Mara Hoffman dedicated her Spring 2012 collection to it. The collection showcases themes and patterns similar to those on sugar skulls. The collection is colorful and detailed, and the accessories are gorgeous. The accessories were colorful and beaded bracelets, and big earings. You should definitely check out Mara’s amazing collection and also her previous works. She is really talented, and I personally love her designs. I particularly love the rainbow shorts. So whether you buy from her collection, or take inspiration from it, you should definitely take a cue from the Mexican Day of the Dead in your fashion this season.
