High-to-Low Skirts

New obsession? High-to-Low skirts. The skirt that is both, long and flowing, and short and sweet. It’s the best of both worlds. And what I really love is that a skirt like this could be dressed up or down. It has the ability to be casual or dressy. So many possibilities. I’m definitely putting it on my wardrobe wish list for when I go shopping. So, I’d really like to know what you think. Love it or hate it?

Forever 21 Exclusive Collection

This is the new, exclusively designed collection for Forever 21. Right in time for spring, it includes lots of shorts and skirts for the coming of warm weather. Full of gorgeous color, its right on trend; with beautiful, bright blues, greens, yellows, and every color in between. I’m in love and I can’t wait to go shopping with all my newly saved money. The best part is that since it’s Forever 21, you know it’s going to be affordable. Chic, affordable, trendy, what more could you ask for?

Skull Fashion

I was thinking earlier, “what are some of my favorite fashion trends of all time?” One of the first I thought of was the skull. This iconic symbol has been used in fashion to add an edgy vibe to clothing. The skull is symbolic of danger, and even death, and can add just the right amount of darkness and mystery to anything. McQueen’s iconic usage of it lit the flame and started a worldwide trend that still is and will be popular for a long time to come. I know I love it, but do you?

Elie Sabb

With Paris Fashion week whizzing by, I’ve been watching the shows, finding my favorites and posting about them, so quickly, so there hasn’t been much time in between posts. But, that’s ok, cause I’m loving it. Anyway, today was the third day of Paris Fashion Week, and there were some really good shows. Among them was the Elie Sabb spring collection. Let me tell you. This collection was beautiful. It was light and sweet, with pastels and feminine silhouettes. Lots of tulle, petals, and sparkle. It’s on trend with the color choice, but it definitely satisfies the craving for something both beautiful and original. I don’t know about you, but I just loved it.

Armani Prive

Paris Fashion Week is one of my favorite times of the year, being a fashion addict and all. And earlier today, Giorgio Armani Prive showed their newest collection. I’m gonna tell you, this is my favorite so far. The show included a lot of variety, from sporty suits to gorgeous, haute couture evening gowns. It’s color palette was really fresh and new. I don’t always love green, but they did it really well. The collection was really edgy, cool, and chic. It is so my style; I was blown away by the whole thing. Well, I’m done gushing, so I’d like to hear what you guys think.

Versace

If you want to be wowed, look up a video of the Versace show at Paris Fashion Week, today. This was the perfect show to start fashion week with, because it set the bar really high. I could go on forever about this gorgeous collection, but it still won’t compare to really seeing the pieces move. I love that at the beginning of the show all the colors were in a beautiful, neutral palette, but nearing the middle, the models started coming out in super bright colors, like orange, yellow, and green, which is really on trend right now. This collection sparkled. As the garments hit the light from above them, they glimmered like diamonds. The care put into each of these pieces is amazing. That’s why you really have to see the video. No photo could really capture the magnificent sparkle in the dresses. Donatella really did outdo herself.

Obsession

My latest obsession? This necklace from H&M. I’m really into statement necklaces right now, so it isn’t really surprising that I would love it. This necklace would give just the right amount of jazz to any outfit, without it being too out there. It would definitely attract attention, but in a really good way. That’s why I love it. And on the plus side? Its only $12 on H&M’s website! I dare you to tell me it isn’t worth it.

Alexis Mabille

I am so happy Paris Fashion Week is finally here; with an amazing first day done, which included collections from designers like Christian Doir, Giambattista Valli, and Versace, the ball is finally rolling with fashion month. I can’t wait to do tons of posts on the runway shows to come. And I’m starting with the one and only Alexis Mabille. This collection was one of the perfect ways to help kick off fashion week; it was so haute couture. The show included bright colors, which is a huge trend right now, and gorgeously constructed dresses and suits made with shimmering silk and flowing chiffon. The headwear also made a big impact. Each hat is a work of art, fashioned to look like roses. This was only one of the shows today, there are more coming soon, so stay tuned.

Happy New Year

Welcome to the year of the dragon! As many know, today is the first day of the Chinese new year. I’m excited about this year, I have a feeling it’ll be great, especially concerning new fashion trends. I love the idea of having fashion reflect world culture. I also love the celebration and decoration of the Chinese new year. To incorporate this holiday into your style, you can do something simple like adding more red and black to your outfit, or you could wear something more obviously connected to the holiday. The black dress in the lower right hand corner of the picture is a gorgeous way of transferring the spirit of the holiday into your wardrobe. The dress is a black Ralph Lauren, with a sheer back covered with an embroidered dragon. I love this concept and I LOVE that dress, so I definitely wouldn’t mind if it hung around.

Prada Perfect

These are some of the newest Prada Jewelry advertisements. I personally love them. The jewels themselves are, of course, beautiful, but the styling and setting is also great. The ad is perfect, from the model looking intensely into the camera with her dark eye makeup, to the stone wall background, to the shadows all over. She looks classic, but very mysterious. And I’m definitely loving the roses featured in the necklace and bracelets. Let me know what you think.
